Effective 29 September 2026 · version 1.3

Your video and audio never leave your computer. To build a cut we receive a description of the timeline, not the media.

01The short version

Your footage never leaves your computer. 24Cuts reads your timeline inside DaVinci Resolve on your own machine. To build a cut, it sends a description of that timeline to our server, never the video or the audio.

24Cuts is in beta. This page describes what the current build collects; when a build changes that, we update this page and the date at the top.

02What we collect

Account and licence. Your e-mail address and name as given at purchase, your licence key, the product you bought, its status, expiry date, activation limit, and the date we first saw you as a customer.

Computers. For each machine where you activate the key: an activation ID and the computer name, plus the date. This is what lets the account portal show your seats and let you release one.

Cut requests. When you run a cut, the app sends our server a map of the timeline so it can plan the edit:

Account portal. A six-digit sign-in code while it is valid, counters used to rate-limit sign-in attempts, and a signed session cookie once you are logged in.

Acceptance of the terms. When you enter the portal you accept the Terms of Use. We record the version accepted, the date, your IP address and whether you signed in by e-mail or by key, under a hashed identifier. This is our proof that the terms of a beta product were shown and accepted.

Technical logs. Our server and our hosting provider keep operational logs: the time of each request, its IP address, the result (success or error) and, for a failed cut, the error message. We use them to keep the service running and to find the cause of a defect you report.

03What we never collect

We do not receive, watch or store:

Note on file paths: the paths sent with a cut request are the ones your project uses, so they may contain the name of your user account or of a client folder. They are used to match clips back to the plan and are not published or shared.

04Log files and diagnostics

The application writes log files on your computer: on Windows in %APPDATA%\24Cuts\logs, on macOS in ~/Library/Application Support/24Cuts/logs. They contain file names, timecodes, timeline metadata, settings, error messages and the version of 24Cuts and of Resolve — never your media.

These files stay on your machine. The application does not upload them. During the beta, support may ask you to send them by e-mail to reproduce a defect; you choose whether to. Logs you send are kept as part of the support conversation and deleted when the case is closed, unless you ask us to keep them.

05Style models to sync

Style models are trained on your computer, from timelines you edited.

To sync a model, we store it in your private area so your other seats can use it. It is not used for other customers and is not shared. You can delete it at any time.

06Why we hold this

We do not sell your data, do not use it for third-party advertising, and do not build profiles for marketing. Messages about your own account, licence, payments or a change to these documents are not marketing and do not depend on that box.

07Companies that process data for us

Each of them processes data on our instructions and for these purposes only. During the beta we may add or replace a provider; when that changes what happens to your data, we update this list.

08How long we keep it

09Security

Data travels over TLS. Sessions use signed cookies. Licence keys are treated as credentials: they are never used as a record name, and the acceptance record is stored under a hash. Access to our records is limited to the people who run 24Cuts.

No system is completely secure, and a beta service changes often. We cannot guarantee that data will never be lost, intercepted or accessed without authorisation. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the competent authority as the LGPD, the GDPR or another applicable law requires.

10Your rights

You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. Write to support@24cuts.com and we will answer within 30 days.

Deleting your account data ends the licence, since the licence is the record. Purchase records that we must keep for accounting, and the record that you accepted the terms, are the exception.

If you are in Brazil these rights come from the LGPD; in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, from the GDPR. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

11Cookies

The account portal sets one cookie, a signed session token, so you stay logged in. It is necessary for the portal to work.

This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Your language choice, and the version of the terms you accepted, are kept in your browser's local storage, on your device.

The tutorial video on our home page is embedded from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode, which sets no cookies until you press play. Once you do, YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that player.

12Where data is processed

Our providers operate globally, so your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union. We rely on the safeguards those providers offer for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.

13Children

24Cuts is a professional tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe we have, write to us and we will delete it.

14Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or why, we will update this page and change the date at the top. When the change is material we will also tell you by e-mail. During the beta, expect this page to change as features are added.

This page is written in English. Translations, if provided, are for convenience; the English version prevails.
