Terms of Use
Effective 25 September 2026 · version 1.6
The plain reading: you keep your footage and your edits, your licence covers your own machines, cutting needs our server to be reachable — and 24Cuts is beta software, used at your own risk, with backups.
01What 24Cuts is
24Cuts is a desktop application that works inside DaVinci Resolve Studio. It reads a multicam timeline you already assembled, analyses the music and the coverage, and builds a finished cut on a new timeline in the same project. It is sold as a subscription licence, billed monthly or annually.
Cutting needs our server: the plan of the edit is computed there and your licence is checked on every request. Without an internet connection, 24Cuts cannot cut.
02Beta software
24Cuts is pre-release software. It is offered during its beta so that real filmmakers can use it on real sets while we finish it. That is what makes it useful, and it is also why you need to read this section.
- It may contain defects. A cut may come out wrong, incomplete, out of sync, or not at all. A feature that worked yesterday may fail today after an update, or after an update to DaVinci Resolve, your operating system or FFmpeg.
- Features, limits, prices and the interface may change, be paused or be removed at any time, with or without notice, while the product finds its final shape.
- Interruptions are to be expected. The cut server, the account portal and the sync of style models may be unavailable for maintenance, for fixes, or because a provider we depend on is down.
- Your data may be affected. A defect could corrupt a timeline, a project, a style model or a preset. 24Cuts writes to new timelines and never deletes your media, but you must assume that anything it touches can be damaged, and keep backups accordingly (section 12).
- Support is best effort. We answer as described in section 21, but we cannot promise a fix, or a date for one.
By using 24Cuts during the beta you accept these risks and agree that the beta state of the product is a fair reason for the limits on warranty and liability in sections 13 and 14. If you are not comfortable with that, do not use 24Cuts on work you cannot afford to redo.
03Who provides the service
24Cuts is developed and operated from Brazil ("we", "us"). The fastest way to reach us is support@24cuts.com.
By installing or using 24Cuts, by creating an account, or by buying a licence, you agree to these terms. If you use 24Cuts for a company, you confirm that you may bind that company to them.
04Your licence
Your subscription gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use 24Cuts for as long as the subscription is active and these terms are respected.
- Each licence key can be activated on a limited number of computers. How many depends on your plan — your account shows the limit that applies to you.
- You may move your licence between your own machines. Releasing a computer in the account portal frees the seat immediately.
- You may not share, sell, rent, sublicense or publish your key, or use one key across an organisation beyond the seats you paid for.
- You are responsible for keeping your key private, and for everything done with it until you tell us it was compromised.
05Plan limits
Each plan carries limits on hours of set per month, number of cameras and number of style models. These are enforced by our server at the moment of the cut.
- One "hour" is the duration of the set you cut, regardless of how many cameras it uses.
- The monthly allowance resets on the 1st of each month, not on your renewal date.
- If a cut would exceed a limit, it is refused before it runs, and it does not consume your allowance.
- During the beta, limits may be adjusted. A change that reduces what your current plan allows is announced by e-mail before it applies to you.
06The free trial
The free trial is the full application, with limits we set and publish on our site. As of this version it covers three cuts of up to 15 minutes each, on up to three cameras, with one style model that you train yourself. The Color and Zoom tools are not included.
- The trial key is valid for 7 days and activates on one computer.
- The trial ends at whichever comes first: the cuts, the days, or the machine.
- Cuts are counted per person, permanently. A new key does not reset them.
- The trial cannot buy extra-hour packs.
- The trial is free, so it is offered with no warranty and no support commitment beyond what the law requires. It exists so you can judge the beta for yourself before paying.
07Payment, renewal and refunds
Purchases are processed by Creem, which acts as Merchant of Record. Creem is the seller for the transaction and is responsible for payment processing, invoicing and applicable sales taxes. Your payment details are handled by Creem; we never receive your card data.
- Subscriptions renew automatically — monthly plans every month, annual plans every year — until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time. Your access continues until the end of the period you already paid for.
- Refunds. Under Brazilian consumer law you may cancel an online purchase within 7 days of the charge and receive a full refund, no reason needed. After that window, write to support and we will review the case together with Creem's refund policy.
- Renewal prices may change. We will tell you by e-mail before a changed price is charged.
- Extra-hour packs are one-off purchases, not subscriptions. The credit does not expire, and it is used only after your monthly allowance runs out.
- A beta defect is not by itself a ground for a refund outside the 7-day window: you are told before buying that the product is in beta (section 02). We do look at every case, and where a defect made the product unusable for you for a substantial part of a paid period, we will refund or credit that period.
08Your footage and your timelines are yours
You keep all rights to your media, your projects, your timelines and the cuts 24Cuts produces. We claim no ownership of them and no licence to use them.
24Cuts does not upload your video or audio. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is transmitted.
09Style models trained on your edits
When you train a style model from timelines you edited yourself, that model is yours.
- Training runs on your computer.
- You can delete a synced model at any time.
- During the beta the model format may change. When it does, we try to convert existing models, but a model may have to be retrained. Keep the timelines you trained it from.
10Our software
The 24Cuts application, the cut server, the Yottabyte engine, the interface, the documentation and this website are ours and are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property law. These terms give you a licence to use them; they transfer no ownership.
You may not copy, modify, translate, decompile, disassemble or reverse-engineer 24Cuts, extract its components or its models, or attempt to bypass, disable or trick the licence checks, the plan limits or the activation of computers, except to the extent a law expressly allows it despite this clause.
11Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- resell access to the service, or run it as a service for third parties beyond your paid seats;
- use the service to produce or process unlawful material, or material you have no right to use;
- interfere with the service, overload it, or attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours;
- use automated tools to call our server other than through the 24Cuts application.
12Your responsibilities
Because 24Cuts is in beta and works directly inside your Resolve project, some things stay with you:
- Backups. Back up your project, your media and your style models before every cut. Nothing in 24Cuts replaces a backup, and we cannot recover work you did not back up.
- Checking the result. 24Cuts produces a draft on a new timeline. Watch it before you deliver it. You, not 24Cuts, are responsible for what you hand to a client or publish.
- Rights in your material. You confirm that you hold the rights, licences and consents needed for the footage, music and other material you run through 24Cuts, and for what you do with the result.
- Your setup. You are responsible for having a supported version of DaVinci Resolve Studio, a valid Resolve licence, a supported operating system and FFmpeg (section 21), and for keeping them updated.
- Your account. Keep the e-mail on your account current: it is where we send notices about these terms, prices and the service.
13No warranty
24Cuts is provided "as is" and "as available", in its beta state, with all its faults.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, timely or free of errors.
In particular, we do not warrant that:
- the output will meet your expectations or your client's. Editing is a creative process, and results vary with the material, the music, the models you trained and the settings;
- 24Cuts will work with every version of DaVinci Resolve, every operating system, every codec or every project structure, or that it will keep working after they update;
- any feature available today will still exist, or work the same way, tomorrow;
- defects will be fixed, or fixed by a given date.
Nothing on our website, in the application, or said by us in support is a warranty unless it is written in these terms.
14Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- our total liability for all claims relating to 24Cuts, the service, or these terms, whatever the legal ground, is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. If you paid nothing, for example on the free trial, our liability is limited accordingly;
- we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages, nor for loss of or damage to footage, projects, timelines, models or other data, lost work, lost time, missed deadlines, lost profits, lost revenue, lost clients, damage to reputation, or the cost of substitute services — even if we were told they could happen;
- we are not liable for what results from your material, your settings, your setup, a defect in DaVinci Resolve, your operating system, FFmpeg or any other third-party software, or from a failure of a provider we depend on (hosting, payments, e-mail, cloud);
- we are not liable for damage that a backup would have avoided, or for a result you delivered without checking it (section 12);
- we are not liable for any event outside our reasonable control, including outages of the internet or of our providers, attacks on our infrastructure, and force majeure.
These limits reflect the fact that 24Cuts is beta software offered at a founders' price while it is completed; the price would not be possible without them. They apply even if a remedy fails its essential purpose.
They do not exclude or limit any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for fraud, for wilful misconduct, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or the mandatory rights of consumers under the laws of Brazil or of the place where you live.
15Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, liability, damage, cost and expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from:
- the footage, music and other material you run through 24Cuts, including claims that it infringes someone's rights;
- what you do with the cuts 24Cuts produces, including how and where you publish them;
- your breach of these terms or of the law, including sharing your key or defeating the licence checks;
- anyone using your key or your account with your permission, or because you failed to keep them safe.
This does not apply to the extent a claim is caused by our own breach of these terms.
16Changes to the service and availability
We may change, pause, limit or discontinue any part of 24Cuts, or the whole service, at any time, with or without notice. During the beta this includes changing how a feature works, retiring a feature, altering plan limits, changing system requirements, and taking the cut server offline for maintenance or fixes.
We may also require you to install a new build to keep cutting. Old builds may stop working when the server changes.
If we discontinue the whole service, or a paid plan, while you have a period you paid for and have not used, we refund the unused portion, or credit it to a replacement plan. That is the only remedy for a discontinuation.
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including failures of the internet, of hosting, payment, e-mail or cloud providers, of DaVinci Resolve or of your operating system, attacks on our infrastructure, strikes, natural disasters, or acts of government.
17Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate a licence that breaches these terms, in particular key sharing, attempts to defeat the licence checks or the plan limits, automated abuse of the server, or unlawful use. Where the breach was not deliberate, we will contact you first. We may also suspend access while we investigate suspected abuse, or when a provider or a law requires it.
A licence terminated for breach is not refunded.
You may stop using the service at any time by cancelling your subscription.
Sections 08 to 10, 12 to 15, 20 and 22 survive the end of your licence.
18Feedback
Beta users tell us what breaks and what should exist. If you send us suggestions, bug reports, timelines you allow us to study, or other feedback, you agree that we may use it freely to improve 24Cuts, without payment or credit, and that it does not give you any right in the product. Your footage stays yours (section 08); this clause covers ideas and reports, not your media.
19Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, and during the beta we expect to. When a change is material we will announce it by e-mail to the address on your account, or on this site, before it takes effect, and the account portal may ask you to accept the new version before you continue. Continuing to use 24Cuts after that means you accept the updated terms. Each version carries a date and a version number at the top of this page.
20Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you have where you live.
Before starting any formal proceeding, write to support@24cuts.com and give us 30 days to resolve the matter with you. Most problems with beta software are fixed faster that way than any other.
Disputes that are not resolved are heard by the courts of Brazil. If you are a consumer, mandatory rules may let you bring a claim where you live; nothing here takes that away.
This page is written in English. Translations, if provided, are for convenience; the English version prevails.
21Support and system requirements
What 24Cuts needs to run. Support covers installations that meet all of the following:
- DaVinci Resolve Studio 20 or newer, tested on 20 and 21. The free edition of Resolve does not expose the scripting access 24Cuts depends on, so 24Cuts will not run on it.
- Windows 11 (64 bit); or macOS 12 or newer on Apple Silicon (M1 or later). Intel Macs are not supported.
- FFmpeg installed and reachable from the command line. 24Cuts reads audio through it and tells you on first use if it cannot find it, with the install command for your system.
- An internet connection whenever you cut: the plan is computed on our server and your licence is checked on every request, as described in section 01.
What support covers. Installing and activating 24Cuts; releasing a computer from your licence; sync and
cut behaviour on a supported setup; and defects we can reproduce on a supported setup. Write to
support@24cuts.com, in English or Portuguese.
We aim to answer within ten business days. Sending the log files speeds things up. On Windows they are in
%APPDATA%\24Cuts\logs; on macOS in ~/Library/Application Support/24Cuts/logs. They contain
file names, timecodes and timeline metadata, never your media.
What support does not cover. The free edition of Resolve, Intel Macs, virtual machines, beta or unreleased versions of Resolve, projects whose media is offline or corrupt, plugins and scripts from other vendors, and editing taste: the cut follows the models you train, and "not the cut I would have made" is not a defect.
Updates. Fixes ship as new builds in the Download area of your account. Always install the latest build; it recognises the key you already use. We support the current version and the one before it.
Response times are targets, not promises. During the beta, a small team answers support, and a hard problem may take longer. A fix, when one is possible, ships in a later build, not on a date we can guarantee.
22General
- Entire agreement. These terms, with the Privacy Policy and the plan limits published on our site, are the whole agreement between you and us about 24Cuts. They replace anything said or written before.
- Severability. If a part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, that part is applied to the extent permitted, and the rest stays in force.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a term at some point, we may still enforce it later.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your licence or these terms to someone else. We may transfer them to a company that continues 24Cuts, and we will tell you if we do.
- Notices. We write to the e-mail on your account. You write to support@24cuts.com.
- Language. The English text prevails over any translation.
